#TuesdayTunes: "Reckless" is the New Vulnerable for Courtney Noe

Courtney Noe’s new single “Reckless” is everything that being reckless normally isn’t: vulnerable, raw, and gives too-many fucks while not giving a single fuck.

The new single off her upcoming EP Bad Attitude is about the push-and-pull of a relationship with someone you know is bad for you, but there’s so much chemistry you can’t quit them. Noe shares, “’Reckless’ is about the best and worst of loving someone. Being so in love with someone you just don’t give a fuck about any consequences, but you’re so in love with them that you almost care too much. You’ll do anything for that high, no matter how messed up the relationship or the dynamic is.” Lyrics such as “Why can’t you tell me, what is the point of you leading me on? But I’m reckless, head-over-heels how I give it to you, leaving me breathless from the things that you do,” illustrate an all-too-relatable situation we’ve all been in once or twice (it’s like she ripped a page right from my diary).

The juxtaposition of the song’s title with the emotion it evokes finds itself in the building light, bell-like synths and pulsating bass as Noe showcases the more vulnerable part of her voice, airy “why’s” punctuating a need for some kind of closure. A departure from the more edgy and more vividly self-assertive vocal stylings of her previous pop-rock track “Woman On The Prowl,” “Reckless” delivers a different kind of self-assertiveness, one that isn’t afraid to own its flaws in order to move towards a place of self-healing.

Listen to “Reckless” on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music. Keep up with Courtney and the details on the release of Bad Attitude on Courtney’s website, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
